Human Rights Now!, a product campaign of Reebok in partnership with RISE, has been named the winner of a 2022 SILVER Halo Award in the Best Activism/Advocacy Initiative category by Engage for Good.

The Halo Awards are one of North America's highest honors for corporate social impact initiatives that showcase outstanding consumer engagement or employee engagement efforts. This marks the 20th year that Engage for Good has rewarded businesses and nonprofits with Halo Awards for doing well by doing good.

In February 2021, Reebok announced the return of its Human Rights Awards, which originally ran from 1988-2007. As part of that celebration, the brand launched its 2021 Human Rights Now! collection on August 12, 2021 to inspire Human Rights and Human Movement for all, not some.

Reebok sought out RISE as its non-profit beneficiary and tactical partner on this campaign because of RISE's dedication to ending racism and fighting for racial justice through the lens of sport. The Reebok Human Rights Award program is being revamped for 2022 in close partnership with RISE, Alabama State University, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Sports Illustrated.

“Together with our joint missions to ensure equitable rights for all, RISE is thrilled to partner with Reebok and is honored to receive this esteemed award,” said Zoe Henriquez, RISE Vice President, Strategic Alliances & Development. “Through the Reebok Human Rights Awards and the Human Rights Now! collection, we have seen the leadership people have taken to promote human rights and help unify our nation through sports. It is truly inspiring.”

“The need to advocate for equality and human rights has never been greater. We are proud to, once again, celebrate and support individuals who have dedicated their lives to fighting for a better world,” said Reebok President Matt O'Toole.

Additionally, Reebok hosted a launch event on August 13, 2021 in Brooklyn, NY. This event highlighted the essence of Human Rights Now! through a poetry pop-up with a theme of racial justice. Headlined by The Roots' Black Thought, the event celebrated the three Human Rights Award winners and included an additional four spoken word artists, product giveaways, RISE's Champions of Change fan experience and the opportunity for people to take the RISE Pledge against racism.

“With the world facing such enormous manmade and natural crises, Halo Award-winning campaigns remind us of the tremendous positive impact companies can have in combatting societal problems,” said Engage for Good President David Hessekiel.

A total of 20 category awards were given out to programs judged as the best corporate social impact campaigns of 2021 at the Engage for Good Conference in Atlanta, GA on May 18, 2022.
