The only thing greater than sport is the spirit that rises from it.
HomeRoss Initiative in Sports for Equality
We are a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations.
Through partnerships and programs, we inspire leaders in sports to create positive change on matters of race and equality.
Educate
We work with athletes, coaches and administrators at every level to equip them with the knowledge and tools to address matters of racism, prejudice, diversity and inclusion.
Our leadership programs build skills and create safe spaces to have difficult conversations. We cover topics such as identity, implicit bias, racial ideology and athlete activism and teach perspective-taking, empathy, and conflict resolution.
Empower
We empower athletes and sports leaders to become effective advocates for change.
With a remarkable ability to transcend societal differences, the sports community can provide an essential influence to improve racial equity in our country. We create unique opportunities for athletes, coaches and staff to learn and amplify their voices.
Engage
We inspire fans around college and professional sporting events through experiences that raise awareness, evoke empathy and encourage action.
Fans are encouraged by their favorite teams and players to join our movement to improve race relations in our country.
